BA (Hons) in Business
The BA (Hons) in Business program is a six-semester, three-year program (180 ECTS) which is designed with an interdisciplinary focus. Courses comprise of formative and summative assessment as well as group work and presentations.
The program has been developed to ensure students acquire an integrated, balanced, and dynamic business education. The need and relevance of agility for an organization is bedded in each course delivery and assessment, enabling the student to see how and why an organization must function to ensure profitability, sustainability, relevance and growth.
Program Structure
Students study common subjects in their first year. This honors degree course offers students considerable flexibility in their choice of second- and third-year subjects which are selected from the different BA (Hons) in Business degree pathways offered at EU Munich. This allows students to choose electives and orientate their studies towards preferred subjects. A wide choice is available from a range of electives across disciplines. Students of the general Business degree must choose their two electives from different specialist pathways. Their studies culminate in a final year capstone research project.

The course builds upon existing learning and equips the student with the skills required in an academic and the business context. The importance of leadership and teamwork in relation to ethical practices will be appraised. Learners will be encouraged to scrutinize both Irish and international government legislations, policies, and company responsibilities in relation to ensuring ethical business and research practices. The course will be delivered using a combination of teaching and learning strategies including lectures, case studies, published research papers, and self-directed learning. Advanced Economic Perspectives

Among other contemporary issues, like HR metrics and data analytics, students will be introduced to the complexity surrounding the reconfiguration of the HR role, the impact of environmental factors on HR performance, the rise of the HR strategic business partner, the potential of e-enabled HR and HR outsourcing opportunities. The course also includes an assessment of the traditional HR activities, recruitment and selection, training and development and associated sophisticated policies and practices.
Corporate Law and Governance
Show detailsThis course builds on the student’s prior knowledge of law and explores corporate laws and governance with an emphasis on the strict regulation that companies must comply with in order to ensure effective corporate governance. This course looks at the Companies Act, 2014 (as amended) as to the formation of a company, financial management, directors’ duties, and liquidation. The course ensures the student acquires an analytical approach to problem solving within the ever-evolving regulatory framework under the umbrella of The Companies Act, 2014 (as amended) but involves an awareness of complementary legislation and regulations related to insider trading and money laundering. The course is suitable for students who are or who would like to work in the legal and/or financial services or any area where regulatory compliance is important.
Advanced Business and Commercial Law

The course is aimed at students who have an interest in developing their knowledge and understanding of the regulatory restraints and obligations imposed upon the operation of commercial entities. This course is increasingly important in today’s regulation and compliance driven world and students will acquire in depth knowledge on data protection, GDPR as well as Intellectual Property. Furthermore, the student will acknowledge the importance of professional duty of care as well as the impact of consumer protection law.
Capstone Project
Show detailsThis course provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to work independently, or in a group setting, on a well-defined research question in an organized and critical manner. The course will enable students to develop their research and analytical skills. The capstone module, business project synergizes previous learning and ensures graduate attributes such as independent learning, analytical and problem-solving skills as well as research and development are captured by the student and necessitates time management and planning. Students will be provided with appropriate research topics in the specific domain they choose to focus upon. Students will select their research question, determine the appropriate research approach, summarize the relevant literature, apply specific research methodologies, collect secondary data, critically appraise their findings, and construct appropriate recommendations.
