English Foundation Program
English is the international language of business. Although the English Foundation Program is not a prerequisite for an EU degree, students must demonstrate proficiency in the English language because all classes, assignments, exams, lectures and final dissertation are carried out in English. If students do not meet any of the EU program’s English requirements, this specialized program will help them to improve their language skills in preparation for their chosen degree.
Program Structure
The English Foundation Program (30 ECTS) is a one-term course spanning eight to ten weeks* with start dates in October, February, June and August. A total of 180 hours of English classes are given throughout the term with students expected to do at least 180 hours of additional independent study. The course content is wide ranging to give students the academic and business English-language skillset they will need to study the degree program of their choice. The program culminates with a final examination.
*Intensive programs are delivered in Summer Terms I and II. The duration is eight weeks.
